Bargain Network Promotes Diana Wilson To President
Santa Barbara, California, March 3, 2003 -- Bargain Network, Inc., (BNI) a leading provider of unbiased consumer services, including shopping comparisons and pricing information, announced today that Diana Wilson, 44, has been promoted to the position of President. Ms. Wilson's promotion is the next step in a continuing effort to extend the successful momentum of the Company. Ms. Wilson has served as BNI’s Chief Financial Officer and member of BNI’s Board since December 2002. Christian Hunter will continue as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, assigning day-to day operations oversight to Ms. Wilson.
As the former President of Deckers, Inc., Ms. Wilson is uniquely qualified to lead Bargain Network from its remarkably rapid early stage growth to the next level of achievement and corporate maturity. Ms. Wilson brings with her more than 20 years of financial and managerial experience. Specifically, she was an executive at Santa Barbara-based Deckers Outdoors (maker of Teva sandals, UGG boots and Simple shoes) from 1990 to 1999. Ms. Wilson joined Deckers as its CFO, and after taking the company public in 1993, was named President and Chief Operating Officer. During this time, Deckers grew from revenues of $5 million to revenues exceeding $100 million.
Ms. Wilson is a certified public accountant and began her career in finance at the accounting and auditing firm of KPMG. Subsequent to Deckers, she founded and was CEO of business consulting practice Impossible.com, a full-service strategic development firm. Ms. Wilson also serves on the board of directors of Airwalk, LLC.
Ms. Wilson is an active member of the local community. In 2000 and again in 2001, she served as the Executive Director for the non-profit Central Coast Venture Forum, an organization dedicated to fostering business development and growth in the Tri-county area. She currently serves on the board of the Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center and is a contributing member of the Katherine Harvey Fellows program at the Santa Barbara Foundation. Diana Wilson received her Bachelors of Science degree in Business, with an emphasis in Accounting, from the University of Northern Colorado.
