Foreclosures in Vacation Destinations Represent Discounts in
Paradise
Bargain Homes provides listings of both foreclosure and pre-foreclosure
properties throughout the entire USA; and many are located in the most
sought-after vacation spots in the country. If you’ve always thought that you
would love to live in your favorite vacation destination all year around, then
your dream home may be within a few keystrokes as you search the fresh
foreclosure listings and browse the neighborhoods of vacation hotspots.
We researched 10 of the most popular vacation locations in America – with the
knowledge that popularity as a vacation destination normally means inflated
real estate prices. But we found foreclosure listings on Bargain Homes within
every single location – and lots of foreclosures waiting in the wings as
pre-foreclosure properties.
Here is our Bargain Homes Vacation Property Top 10, listed alphabetically.
Atlanta
Georgia:
The historical city of Atlanta is listed as one of the hottest foreclosure
markets in the USA right now, but it is also a first-class tourist destination
with some of the best entertainment in the country. And if you like to play
golf, Atlanta has it all and is within a short drive (no pun intended) of
Augusta, one of the golf capitals of the world. We quickly found nearly 4,000
foreclosures in Atlanta, with prices starting as low as $20,000.
Charleston,
South Carolina:
One of the most beautiful and historic cities in America, Charleston is also
situated along the pristine South Carolina coastline with its remarkable
beaches. Even though it is difficult to buy property at reasonable prices in
this aristocratic old city, Bargain Homes lists 30 foreclosures in the area,
including a 2-bedroom for $45,000 and a spacious 4-bedroom, 2-bath in North
Charleston for less than $200,000.
Honolulu,
Hawaii:
Say the word Hawaii, and everyone thinks vacation paradise. We weren’t surprised
to find only 3 foreclosures in the Honolulu area (two recently sold for around
$500,000), but were excited to see 100 pre-foreclosures. And at Kihei (two
islands over), we found a one-bedroom listed for $37,300.
Las
Vegas, Nevada:
Many researchers list Las Vegas within the top 10 metropolitan areas for
foreclosures, and a quick browse through Bargain Homes listings validated that
status. There are 570 foreclosures and more than 3,000 homes in
pre-foreclosure, priced in a huge range (from $21,000 up to luxury homes in the
millions). And Las Vegas remains one of the most popular vacation destinations
in the world.
Orlando,
Florida:
Orlando may be the most popular vacation destination in the entire USA, and it
is also becoming a popular city for investors seeking bargains. Bargain Homes
lists 1,329 in pre-foreclosure and 115 already in foreclosure. Included in
those listings are a number of 3-bedroom, 2-bath homes for under $225,000 – and
that means under the medium price of a single family home nationwide.
Niagara
Falls, New York:
Bargain Homes has current information on nearly 500 foreclosures within a short
distance, and that includes 100 within a 10-mile radius of the famous Niagara
Falls. Many have asking prices below $30,000, and a dozen recently sold
listings went for less than $20,000.
Pinehurst,
North Carolina:
The PGA tournament is often hosted in this golf town, where housing is unusually
limited by the inordinate demand for golf property in a small village that
sports at least 100 golf courses. But we located 10 foreclosures within 10
minutes of the world famous Pinehurst Country Club.
San
Antonio, Texas:
Let your fingers do the walking through the Bargain Homes listings and you may
find an undervalued condo near the River Walk nightlife. We found a dozen
foreclosures priced under $75,000 and more than 400 foreclosures with 10 miles
of downtown.
San
Francisco, California:
65 foreclosures with more than 400 properties in pre-foreclosure points to a
growing foreclosure market in one of the most desirable vacation cities in the
world. One of the foreclosures is a multi-family unit perched high on a hill in
prestigious old San Francisco, with gorgeous traditional architecture, priced
for $1,499,000.
Santa
Fe, New Mexico:
With 40 foreclosures within a few mile radius, investors will find it very
interesting that two foreclosures recently sold for less than $85,000 within
the same zip code as one now listed in foreclosure for more than $800,000.
Whether you are an investor looking for prime real estate with high rental
demand, or an individual looking to acquire a vacation home without blowing
your holiday budget, Bargain Homes listings have plenty to offer and include
locations that are literally all over the real estate map.
