GSA offers an on-line auction of real property. At this site you can view the present high bids being offered and can bid on those properties over the internet. Before you bid, you need to see what properties are available and then get the bid package that applies to the property you are interested in. GSA bid packages include the description of the property and all terms and conditions of the sale. GSA bid packages can be obtained three ways: by downloading from the GSA website, contacting the GSA information center, or via email request.
Once you have read the bid package, you can move to the next step which is to register to bid. Bid deposits are required in order to bid. You can submit the deposit as a cashiers check in the amount specified in the bid package or you can submit the amount using a credit card on-line. Once the credit card information is approved or the deposit is received, you will be assigned a bidder ID number and you can select your own password. With the ID number and your password you will be able to use this site to bid on-line over the internet.
So, to get started, you need to see what property is available. Get the bid package for the property that you are interested in and then go to http://www.auctionrp.com and register to bid.
The present high bid is available (24 hours a day) by calling the recorded message at 1-888-GSA-LAND or by viewing the auction at http://auctionrp.com.
